Vernon Silver Star Quilt Sale

The Vernon Silver Star Quilters Guild (VSSQG) is onto something good.
The guild will host its second Autumn Sale of Quilts and Quilted Goods Saturday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Halina Centre.
“This autumn sale is meant to fill the gap in the two years in between quilt shows,” said the guild in a release. The next quilt show is slated for September 2025.
The last time the quilters held the event, they donated more than 500$ to two local charities – Santas Anonymous and Hospice House
VSSQG, in 2022, donated more than 100 quilts to various cause sin the community, in addition to taking on a special request from Vernon School District counsellors for fidget blankets or pillows. Many in the guild jumped on the request and, within a month, several quilts were donated to local schools.
The guild is working this year on a request from the North Okanagan Hospice Society as well as other local charities.
The quilts available Oct. 14 would be perfect for birthday, anniversary, baby, cuddle up, Christmas, or just because gifts. Quilts of all sizes and a variety of styles will be available for purchase, as well as numerous fabric items that have three layers sewn together – the guild’s definition of a quilt.

Admission Oct. 14 is by donation with net proceeds to charity. In addition, Halina Centre anticipates having their Cantina open for refreshments.
